More About Audience?

  The target audience for my magazine is around 18-60 years old, and my magazine does not apply to a particular gender. It applies to people from all over the world, but mostly, to people in first-world countries who have access to any modern cameras. The magazine applies to no income levels. These people are at least high school students or high school graduates, and there are many college graduates in the mix as well. Of course, my target audience must be interested in photography, which is what my magazine revolved around.

So, for today, I will do a comparison between Digital Photo Magazine (DPM)'s target audience and my (future) magazine's target audience. 

 So, a magazine that has a similar target audience is Digital Photo Magazine (DPM). For one, both of our audiences are photographers, which is the main attribute that readers of DPM and Technique should possess. Digital Photo Magazine is aimed towards adults who are able to purchase a DSLR camera, which matches my magazine's target audience as well since such audience is also, clearly, interested in photography and the quality of it. DPM does not appeal to any particular
gender and instead appeals to everyone, which is the same as my audience. This broadness allows 
DPM to market to more people instead of only a small margin of people, which helps bring in more customers. Digital Photo Magazine markets its product by allowing potential buyers to subscribe to the magazine and receive it in the mail. DPM's website is also utilized to engage old readers and pull in new ones. Biweekly e-newsletters, exclusive information, and more are all displayed online to pull in traffic and keep the audience interested. Photography contests showcased in DPM's magazine and website greatly increase the reader's activity within the magazine. Digital Photo Magazine is also available on the App Store, Kindle, and many other sources. This allows current users of those programs to find DPM and subscribe to the magazine digitally. This magazine also has a partnership with Flashbender 2 XL Pro Lighting System; this company aids DPM in its contests and advertises DPM on its website in return for DPM giving credit to Flashbender for presenting its photography competitions. I would definitely use all these aspects to market Technique to new customers.
